The documents most people need for Uruguay

Background certificates and full birth certificates are usually the slowest documents to obtain from abroad. Request them first.

Passport renewal, if needed, should also start immediately — everything else is checked against the name and spelling in your passport.

Several documents are only accepted if recently issued. If you obtain them too early, you may pay twice.

Plan backwards from your intended submission date, not forwards from today.
